First- the Email account is Exchange (Hosted provider) and when I authenticate- the account in Outlook does not save the password- and if I select save password in Keychains - the account will NOT authenticate. Then, clicking Tools/Accounts I enter the password there and then click on the exit icon and the account will authenticate. IF I quit Outlook (Close the application) and relaunch or if I reboot the Mac or close down the Mac for the day and return the next day- the same behavior: the password is missing under Tools/Accounts for the Exchange email account. At the suggestion of router mfg support engineer: I changed the Outlook Preferences/Schedules/SendReceive All from every 10 Minutes to every 6 minutes then every 4 minutes and then every 2 minutes. The icon on lower right 'Connected to - provider name' continues to 'disconnect' and color changes from ORANGE icon to GRAY.

What's interesting is that I do NOT lose 'presence' in Outlook and with Lync running on my desktop I can change my presence or anyone else shown on my Lync client and I still see the changes to my Outlook when I view emails from that person or my emails. The other characteristic is I must re-enter my password in Outlook/Tools/Accounts for Exchange every time it fails and within 2-4 seconds the icon turns ORANGE and is CONNECTED.
After an update last week to version 16.16 in OUTLOOK FOR MAC, I noticed after I put a name in the TO Email Box and hover over it, it says PRESENCE UNKNOWN, as opposed to showing the email address. And comes up with this box. If I click on the contact, of course the contact page will come up. If I click on the letter, a new email box will come up and again, if I hover over the name, again, it says PRESENCE UNKNOWN. I have googled a bunch of answers, but they are all from 2012 and pertain to other stuff.
How can I fix this????? OOPS, I just noticed this is for IT Professionals, which I am not, but maybe someone can answer my question. Thanks in advance. None of the other PRESENCE UNKNOWN links, are about my problem. Hi, Does this issue only happen to your account?
If you log on your account on another Mac, will same issue occur? When I tested this issue on my Outlook 2016 for Mac 12), I can see the detailed email address here. Please first try to see if issue persists. Besides, we could also log on as a new user or create a new user account, and then test an application to check if a user's specific information was corrupted.
